Built for the art.

My first tattoo appointment was on my 18th birthday. From that point on, tattoos have become a huge chunk of who I am; not just the ink itself, but the culture and the community that surrounds this art.

Every appointment I scheduled, I began to notice the same things: the tools these artists were using were not made for them. Schedules and appointments managed through DMs, reference images scattered across photo reels and apps, aftercare instructions printed out or saved from previous studios. Artists were forcing their workflows into tools that didn't have them in mind.

Artists would have a session prepped, a design ready, their schedule cleared, only for a client to forget that their appointment was that day. Other times, clients would go home after a session and the artist would never see the healed piece ever again; a piece they poured hours into creating, but would not get to showcase the full picture of their work.

One afternoon, I sat down with an artist and asked them to walk me through their actual workflow; not just the art they were creating, but the tedious tasks that surrounded it. We spent the next hour walking through scattered tools, unnecessary work, challenges with client management, and the lack of a workflow built for tattoo artists, piercers, and body mod artists.

An industry with some of the greatest art in the world was being forced to manage their work with tools that were built without them in mind.

I wanted to build something different; something that had tattoo artists at the forefront of its design and development, not as an afterthought. Something tailor-made for this industry that could elevate how artists work. That's Stencled.

Stencled isn't just a business to me; it's a platform built to cultivate tattoo culture, empower the artists who create it, and provide a space for the community and artistry to thrive.
